2011… it’s a Wrap!

December 23, 2011

It has been a great year for Diverse City Films. We have continued to work with clients that inspire people, have an impact on the world, and some that are just a lot of fun! Here are some of the highlights.

We met some interesting and fascinating characters along the way, including; Angry Anderson, Kieran Perkins, Bronwyn Bishop, Brendan Jones, Daryl Beattie and a number of Australian Pro Golfers and Cricketers. A highlight was spending three days documenting Bear Grylls promotional trip to Australia.

In November, we received word from Hollywood that our documentary ‘WORLDS APART: Together in Adversity’ received an award at ‘The Indie Fest’ film festival. It’s a great recognition for the supporters and production team that donated their time and money for such a worthwhile film, bringing disability care into the spotlight through the eyes of two inspiring boys.

We also teamed up with Greg Hirst Enterprises for the production of a 13 part TV series titled, ‘Temporary Australians’. The series looks at the positive side of the motorcycle scene and will air Nationally in March 2012.

We have really enjoyed getting to know some great new clients including; On Productions, Triumph Communications and Cultural Intelligence Collective – working with them on media training, news gathering and quirky promotional events.

We continue to solidify our relationship with some really worthwhile organisations that are making a real difference in the world. Organisations such as; R2L & Associates, Baptist World Aid, Christian Blind Mission, The Mary Mackillop Foundation and Hawkins Ministry Resourses.

We are excited to see what 2012 will bring. Merry Christmas and God bless!

Regards,
Tim Robinson

We have travelled extensively around Australia; from Victoria, to Queensland, to the top end. And also overseas; from Kenya, to Malaysia, to Thailand and back!

WORLDS APART: Sydney Screening

In May we launched our first feature documentary, WORLDS APART: Together in Adversity. The film went on tour throughout Queensland, Sydney and Melbourne. We even screened the film across Thailand where much of the doco was filmed.

Traveling in Style - 1937 Lockheed Electra

We have worked with a variety of clients including international aid organisations, production companies and local bands. Working closely to veteran filmmaker, Greg Grainger, was a great learning experience. I am amazing at the quantity and quality of programming that their staff produces. We have also worked alongside R2L & Associates on many projects and their wealth of knowledge and experience is truly amazing.
